Although certain anteaters might be active at night, it is untrue to label all anteaters as nocturnal animals. Various anteater species have different activity patterns; many of them are genuinely crepuscular, that is, most active at twilight at dawn and dusk. For instance, depending on the temperature and human activity in their habitat, the giant anteater can be active both day and night. Often, elements like temperature, prey availability, and predator presence shape their activity patterns. While in cooler areas or seasons they might be more active during daylight hours, in situations where temperatures are rather high during the day they might become more nocturnal. Their activity patterns' adaptability to various environmental situations helps them evade both human disturbance and natural predators.
