Oops, They Did It Again: Packaging Blunders That Are Comedy Gold

6. A Pen That Was Made To Minimize The Use Of Plastic

Once more, we come across businesses using the green argument without really following sustainable policies. Though it's become a catchphrase in marketing, not every firm seems ready to really embrace sustainability. In this instance, a manufacturer made audacious assertions about cutting plastic consumption only to have a pen that was everything from ecologically friendly fall short. This supposedly "recycled" pen seems more of a marketing tool than a sincere attempt to cut plastic waste. For consumers striving to make ecologically conscientious decisions, such false assertions can be rather irritating. Seeing companies take advantage of the rising market for environmentally friendly goods without living up to expectations depresses me. Consumers who grow more conscious of environmental problems are more prone to examine company statements. This event reminds us that real sustainability calls both responsibility and openness. Companies have to walk the walk as well as talk the talk about environmentally sustainable projects.
